"More Than a Hundred Million Potential Users for GRID"
The main Icelandic business publication, Vidskiptamogginn, featured a longer interview with CEO of GRID, Hjalmar, this week as GRID celebrated their first birthday and celebrated the opening of new offices in Katrinartun.
The SaaS startup GRID which creates a tool for displaying and analysing data from offline and online spreadsheets is expecting to roll out their product in the beginning of next year. The first wave of user testing is in full swing and about 2.500 people have signed up for the beta version of GRID. The founder and CEO, Hjálmar Gíslason, started the company about one year ago and has since received $4.5 million in investments. One of the valuable characteristics of the product is that the spreadsheet owner controls the data while sharing and analysing it with others without compromising security or structure of the underlying document.
"If people have put together data in a spreadsheet but then need to share it with others - whether it is stakeholders or colleagues - then this is a very simple and practical tool to display and share the data in an efficient and smooth manner", Hjálmar says in his interview with VidskiptaMogginn (the largest business publication in Iceland). According to Hjalmar, GRID could generate annual revenues of ISK 10-15 billion (up to $90 million) over the next 7-10 years, if the company's plans are successful.
The Icelandic Chamber of Commerce have been the latest to enjoy the ease and intuitiveness of using GRID in an experiment to analyse Iceland's progress to reduce their carbon footprint according to the Paris Agreement. In the GRID-document/dashboard, one can now simply see and analyse variable scenarios and understand which actions have to be taken in order to reach Iceland's goals.
The full interview was published in the paper- and digital version of the VidskiptaMogginn on October 9th, 2019. The preview can be seen here, in Icelandic.
